Description

Technology is a powerful catalyst for achieving Tahoe’s environmental goals. It helps people understand the many ways to get around in Tahoe, connects people to sustainable recreation and transportation options, shares real-time information for better decision-making, and prepares us for the future of alternative fueling options, self-driving cars, and other advances in transportation. Remote uses of cameras let managers detect things such as wildfire to inform needs for response and evacuation. Tools like LT INFO and the EIP Tracker ensure better coordination for EIP program implementation.

Projects include:

  • Create and administer online tools and web applications to help connect people to the EIP.
  • Providing real time parking, transit service or recreation site information.
  • Improve information sharing and coordination during emergencies and special events.
  • Utilize cameras and remote technology to help inform management decisions.
