The Marlette Virtual Nature Trail follows 12 miles of existing trails from Spooner Lake to Tunnel Creek. The trail starts with a sign in the Spooner Lake parking area with instructions on how to access the trail information. A second sign is placed at the Tunnel Creek trailhead. The trail is hosted on the Google Earth platform, which offers Android and iPhone apps, as well as web-based maps. The trail follows the existing North Canyon, Marlette Flume, and Tunnel Creek trails. The trail has 20 points of interest highlighting plants, animals, geology, and human history such as Washoe culture and Comstock logging and mining.
