The project seeks to improve the multi-modal community access to the Bijou Community School. Current issues of inadequate pedestrian accessibility and safety, poor drainage and water quality impacts from parking in the dirt would be addressed through new stormwater infrastructure coordinated with new pedestrian and cyclist safety and accessibility improvements. The project will incorporate and evaluate mobility improvements recommended in the LTUSD Safe Routes to School Master Plan. The project will seek to provide improvements along Spruce Avenue and Blackwood Road to provide increased safety and accessibility for pedestrians to connect to existing and future improvements in the area.
