Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The Lake Tahoe Basin Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) Update will update the current Lake Tahoe Basin CWPP (2015). The Healthy Forests Restoration Act (HFRA) of 2003 encouraged communities to create CWPPs to collaboratively designate community wildfire issues in most need of addressing. The process of developing CWPP helps communities clarify and refine priorities for the protection of life, property, and critical infrastructure in the wildland–urban interface. This project will also include the update of strategic and tactical wildfire pre-attack plans for all areas in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
