Aquatic Invasive Species Program
Prevent, Control, or Eradicate Aquatic Invasive Species
In October 2022 during a surveillance monitoring survey, a dense Eurasian watermilfoil infestation was observed by divers. In 2023, Tahoe RCD's contracted dive team installed barriers in June to control Eurasian watermilfoil. Barriers were removed in November 2023, and follow-up surveys and plant removal continued in 2024. Due to successful diver removal efforts and minimal detection of newly rooted Eurasian watermilfoil during surveillance visits in 2024, this project has reached post-implementation surveillance status.
