Watershed Restoration Program
Restore Priority Meadows, Wetlands, and Lake Tahoe Tributaries
This stream restoration project included the construction of a new channel along 90 percent of this reach to improve riparian functions, reduce stream velocities during high flows, improve forest health with selective tree thinning, and improve fish habitat by removing obstructions. The new channel was engineered to prevent further bed and bank erosion, reconnect the stream to the surrounding floodplain, and promote reestablishment of viable fish populations in Rosewood Creek by improving the stream geometry.
Targeted Performance Measures
Acres of Forest Fuels Reduction Treatment
Acres of Habitat Restored or Enhanced
Linear Feet of Stream Channel Restored or Enhanced
