This monitoring program was suspended in 2019 to complete a basin-wide assessment of SEZ condition and will resume in 2020...
TRPA's SEZ monitoring program utilizes the California Rapid Assessment Method (CRAM), which is a wetland monitoring method that measures buffer and surrounding landscape, hydrology, physical structure, and biotic structure to give an overall "score" of function. The program utilizes both a probabilistic and targeted sampling method to assess the overall health of the Tahoe Basin's SEZ. 20 probabilistic "status" sites are visited each year, and 80 permanent "trend" sites are visited every four years.
