The Tahoe Science Advisory Council’s “Science-to-Action Plan for the Upland Ecosystem” provides a broad framework for collecting data, performing analyses, and developing the modeling tools needed to address restoration and resilience planning in the Tahoe Basin. A holistic and coordinated approach is needed to address climate change and disturbance impacts (e.g. wildfire, introduction of species) in forests and watersheds of the Basin. This framework addresses the research needed to identify changing conditions, inform resource management decision-making, and monitor expected outcomes. Project focus areas include forests and fires, terrestrial and aquatic linkages, and biological integrity.
