Undertaking Focused Studies to Determine the Appropriate Management Strategies that Maximize Defensible Space, while meeting other environmental objectives, namely erosion reduction and water conservation. Investigate approaches to achieving defensible space objectives that also minimize the risk of erosion and accomplish other environmental objectives such as reduced water use and increased use of native species. Factors evaluated would include plant species composition, the interaction of topography, broader-scale vegetation conditions, nearby water bodies, and the built environment in the surrounding area to inform what combinations of factors meet various erosion reduction, fire protec
