Transportation Program Build and Enhance Transit Systems
The Y-Mobility Hub would provide multi-modal access to popular destinations within the City and Lake Tahoe beaches along the State Route 89 corridor north of the Y to facilitate other modes of transportation. The Mobility Hub would include a Park-n-Ride and facilities for fixed-route transit, micro transit and regional shuttle options to decrease dependency on private vehicles. The SR 89 corridor has multiple destinations and high visitation rates during peak season result in congestion and parking issues. East of Y on Highway 50 there is a need to connect people with residential and commercial areas along the Highway 50 corridor and the Stateline/Heavenly Village Tourist Core Area.
