This project creates a plan to address environmental, safety, and public access issues associated with uncontrolled access along the East Shore of Lake Tahoe. Phase 1 includes expansion of two existing USFS parking lots, a new park and ride lot at US50/SR28 junction (Spooner) including a permanent AIS inspection station, new transit stops south of Sand Harbor, highway safety improvements including center line rumble strip, guard rail, and improved signage, and other highway operational improvements.
