Community Wildfire Protection Program Upgrade Priority Water Infrastructure to Fight Catastrophic Wildfire
Hundreds of fire hydrants within IVGID were installed >40years ago and are no longer in compliance with current NLTPFD adopted IFC code requirements and standard operating guidelines. The increasing age also means replacement parts are no longer available for certain manufacturer models. Replacement criteria is based on a priority basis determined cooperatively by IVGID and NLTFPD. The project aims to replace hydrants no longer suitable for continued maintenance and to modify hydrants that can be salvaged and updated to meet current code requirements. Project improves water supply enhancing fire protection capabilities on private, local, state, and federal lands by increasing fire flow volum
