The Washoe Tribe is seeking to increase stewardship for forest health in the Tahoe Basin and supporting partners with providing an extra workforce to build capacity. The Tribe seeks to increase cultural burning to protect cultural and medicinal resources, reduce fuel loads on Washoe Tribal parcels in the basin and along streams of importance to the Washoe Tribe to protect and increase Lahontan Cutthroat Trout populations.
