Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
Van Sickle Bi-State Park is a unit of Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. Development of the park (on the NV side) is in the planning phases and will include a new visitors center, staff housing, offices, and a new trail. Project activities will begin in 2023 and focus on reducing hazardous fuels around the proposed new park infrastructure and also focus on removing trees for construction activities. A combination of hand thinning, chipping, pile building, and pile burning are proposed.
