Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The West Shore WUI Project proposes vegetation and fuels treatments to reduce stand densities to improve forest health, reduce fire hazards from existing fuels, and modify fire behavior to provide defensible space for adjoining developed private lands. Treatment options include ground based mechanical treatments wherever slope and road access allow, and hand treatments where steeper and/or rocky slopes prohibit mechanical equipment operations. The proposed action includes 110 treatment units, and approximately 100 urban lots, totaling approximately 4,875 acres.
