Watershed Restoration Program
Restore Priority Meadows, Wetlands, and Lake Tahoe Tributaries
This project restores 0.7 acres of poor functioning fragmented wetland habitat to functional cold-water aquatic and terrestrial wetland habitat and addresses mosquito habitat, water quality, wetland function and diversity though the construction of a beaver analog pond structure. This project results in no net loss of wetland acreage. Total project impacts to a WOUS is 0.70 acres. Total project boundary including upland is two acres. Project results in approx 30 CY of relocated fill, 10 CY of rock fill for erosion protection along roadway and +/- 1,800 for export of pond material. Plan calls for salvage and reuse of all wetland soils and plants.
