The proposed Marlette Virtual Nature Trail would follow 12 miles of existing trails from Spooner Lake to Tunnel Creek. The trail will start with a sign in the Spooner Lake parking area with instructions on how to access the trail information. A second sign will be placed at the Tunnel Creek trailhead. The trail will be hosted on the Google Earth platform, which offers Android and iPhone apps, as well as web-based maps. The trail will follow the existing North Canyon, Marlette Flume, and Tunnel Creek trails. The trail will have 12-20 points of interest highlighting plants, animals, geology, and human history such as Washoe culture and Comstock logging and mining.
