This project built an automated tool that produces high-resolution maps of aspen, cottonwood, and other priority (e.g., willow) vegetation types in the Tahoe Basin. The tool will be used to track changes in vegetation distribution, cover, and health over time and will help to understand how recent fires, treatments, and insect outbreaks are changing the extent of hardwood communities.
