Research funded by SNPLMA was published in the North American Journal of Fisheries Management titled “Evaluating the Reintroduction Potential of Lahontan cutthroat trout in Fallen Leaf Lake”. Recommendations from this study improved survival and management of LCT and are currently being implemented at Fallen Leaf Lake. These actions include: multiple stocking sites around the lake as a reintroduction strategy; sites with increased habitat complexity; small numbers of fish per site; hydroacoustics use to improve lake trout suppression; and stocking during periods of thermal stratification to minimize encounters with predators.
