Science Program Conduct Applied Scientific Research
Conduct Research to Evaluate Alternative Strategies to Minimize the Impacts and Maximize Restoration Benefits of Fuels Management Projects in Stream Environment Zones. This project would specifically investigate restoration strategies for riparian ecosystem, with an emphasis on streamside riparian ecosystems. Restoration of species composition and structure to enhance habitat value, hydrologic function, and stream ecological conditions. The project would include development and application of concepts of natural range of variability in forest conditions, fire dynamics, and terrestrial and aquatic habitat value for native species.
