The Fallen Leaf Lake Area represents one of the largest concentrations of recreational use by visitors and residents in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The proposed path extension will connect to the existing bike trail network from the City of South Lake Tahoe and the Meyers Community. The Project addresses existing safety conditions on Fallen Leaf Road by moving pedestrians and bicyclists from the roadway to a new shared use path extension reducing conflict hazards. New parking areas near SR 89 and Fallen Leaf Lake Campground will be evaluated to reduce traffic/off roadway parking impacts. The proposed extension is from Fallen Leaf Campground to Tahoe Mountain Road.
