Sustainable Recreation Program Improve Public Recreation Facilities
The Elks Club site is important for residents and visitors to access the Upper Truckee River and broader trail network. The Conservancy will improve the parking lot and ensure accessible connections to trails leading to the river and other public lands. The Conservancy will achieve multiple benefits through the Project by reconstructing the parking lot; installing Best Management Practices to capture storm water runoff to protect water quality; and providing accessible parking spaces, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This Project was planned along with the Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program Country Club Heights Erosion Control Project #01.01.01.0067.
