Forest Restoration Program Restore and Protect Native Wildlife
This project improves the infrastructure at both the USFWS's Lahontan National Fish Hatchery (LNFH) and CDFW's American River Fish Hatchery. This project benefits Pilot Peak Lahontan Cutthroat Trout by providing a consistent water supply and chilling operations for safeguarding broodstock and modernizing infrastructure to expand production for stocking the Tahoe Basin by both hatcheries. Increasing capacity and water supply restores an iconic native trout to the basin and expands the diversity of angling experience while helping to achieve self-sustaining interconnected populations within its historic habitat.
