Forest Restoration Program Restore and Protect Native Fish and Wildlife
The goal of the project is to identify disturbed riparian habitats and implement restoration and enhancement projects at identified sites. Aspen stands are critical stabilizing riparian vegetation and are being encroached upon by coniferous species because of the lack of natural disturbances like fire. A critical component of the Riparian Wildlife Habitat Enhancement project is to remove coniferous species to promote the health and sustainability of aspen communities located in or near riparian areas.
