Forest Restoration Program Restore and Protect Native Fish and Wildlife
This project is a multi-phase project. The first objective is to detect the presence (or absence) of target animals including American marten, long tailed weasel, short tailed weasel, fisher, Sierra Nevada red fox, bobcat, wolverine, mink, and river otter. The second objective will be based on the results of the first objective. If target species are found in a certain locale the area will be revisited to trap and radio collar target animals. Movement will be monitored with the expectation of finding denning sites or to determine a general home range. These areas may be characterized and designated for protection in the future.
