California Conservation Corps (CCC) were hired by the Airport to perform forest health hazardous fuels reduction on trees located outside of the Stream Environment Zone. Treatment occurred in 2020 and 2021 concluding in November 2021 (South Lake Tahoe Airport Improvement Project). All trees were hand cut and stacked into burn piles for future prescribed burn after wood has cured. El Dorado AQMD permits must be secured prior to any ignition. Per TRPA MOU MM a Qualified Exemption is required for this project. CCC will be hired to perform prescribed burns on behalf of the airport.
