Community Wildfire Protection Program Upgrade Priority Water Infrastructure to Fight Catastrophic Wildfire
The Project will consist of the installation of approximately 600 feet of new 8” water main and a pressure reducing valve station to connect the Meeks Bay Vista pressure zone to the Tahoe Hills distribution system. The system experiences severe head loss under fire flows. Providing a northernly connection will greatly improve fire flow at all hydrants along Meeks Bay Avenue and creates a redundant connection to the system in the event of a failure. Project improves water supply enhancing fire protection capabilities on private, local, state, and federal lands by increasing fire flow volumes and coverage area.
