Community Wildfire Protection Program
Implement Defensible Space on Public and Private Parcels and Utility Corridors
This project will improve defensible space for Glenbrook, the US Highway 50 primary evacuation corridor, and East Shore Tahoe tourist assets by:
creating and sustaining a fuel break on GHOA General Forest and privately owned land parcels adjacent to US Highway 50.
creating and sustaining 200 ft fuel breaks on GHOA General Forest lands and privately owned land parcels located between Glenbrook and USFS parcels west of Spooner Summit, NV.
The project utilizes 2025 Lake Tahoe-Community Wildfire Protection Plan mitigation strategies to reduce combustible fuels via mastication and hand crew work on approximately 62 acres of privately owned land.
