Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The Lyons Ranch Fuel Hazard Reduction Project consists of manual and mechanical fuel hazard reduction treatments on 132 acres (33 acres of manual and 99 acres of mechanical) within the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) in the south shore area of the Lake Tahoe Basin on Conservancy owned lands in El Dorado County. The treatments would reduce fuel loads near residential structures and are identified as priority treatment areas in the recently released Tahoe Basin CWPP. The project is designed to modify expected fire behavior/intensity in the treatment area and will serve to reduce wildfire risk to the adjacent residential south shore communities along Pioneer Trail.
