Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The Tahoe Keys Large Acreage (TKLA) Project consists of manual and mastication fuel reduction treatments on Conservancy and LTBMU owned land within the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) in the south shore area of the Lake Tahoe Basin in the City of South Lake Tahoe. The treatments would reduce fuel loads near residential structures and are identified as priority treatment areas in the recently released Tahoe Basin CWPP. The project is designed to modify expected fire behavior/intensity in the treatment area and will serve to reduce wildfire risk to the adjacent residential south shore neighborhood of Tahoe
