Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
Beginning at the start of North Canyon Road in Spooner State Park, Nevada Division of Forestry crews will hand thin and create burn piles 100 feet off both sides of the road up to Marlette Lake. The goal is to create a shaded fuel break to strengthen the use of North Canyon Road as a Potential Operational Delineation for future wildfire firefighting efforts. Crews will cut and construct piles during the summer and fall months of 2023 and 2024 and burn the piles in the winters of 2025/2026 and 2026/2027.
