Community Wildfire Protection Program
Reduce Hazardous Fuels
STPUD will complete a Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) and CEQA compliance documents and identify and obtain any necessary permits for the priority infrastructure treatment sites identified in the 2021 Fire Vulnerability Assessment completed with California Tahoe Conservancy planning funds. The assessment targeted all water and sewer infrastructure and can be utilized by any utility agency for identifying priority facilities that need fuel reduction, defensible space, or other systems hardening work that prevents wildfire damage to infrastructure. The identified treatment sites included in the plan will be located within the service areas of the public water agencies on the California side.
