Community Wildfire Protection Program
Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District (NLTFPD) will reduce hazardous fuels on 210-620 acres and plan for additional hazardous fuels removal on federal and non-federal lands in the wildland-urban interface of Incline Village and Crystal Bay, NV to mitigate the wildfire risk to the community and improve forest health. The project will be accompanied by two public outreach activities that will showcase fuels reduction treatments and provide education on forest health, fuels treatments, and Fire Adapted Community concepts. These activities will create a better informed and more prepared Fire Adapted Community in Incline Village and Crystal Bay, NV, an area with extreme wildfire risk.
