Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
Lake Tahoe Community College's Forestry Education & Job Placement Program will increase the skilled workforce urgently needed to accelerate the pace of forest treatments in Tahoe and will subsequently reduce wildfire risk. The program offers stackable certificates leading to an associate degree in forestry with transfer opportunities to 4-year programs. By offering multiple education and career pathways for youth and adults, the program aims to recruit traditional and non-traditional students and place students in jobs during and after program completion.
