Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The scope of work for this project was drastically reduced for several reasons. However, 501 of the original 1013 urban lots were treated for fuels reduction to remove shrubs, smaller trees, downed logs, and woody materials. The cut biomass was chipped and removed from the site. The project serves to improve forest health for the larger trees that are retained. It also improves the defensible space for neighboring structures. The hand thinning work was completed in 2021, and the scope of work reduction was approved by the funder early in 2023 allowing for the project to be closed out.
