Aquatic Invasive Species Program Prevent, Control, or Eradicate Aquatic Invasive Species
Target invasive fish species are contributing to declines in native and recreational non-native fish, alterations in food-web dynamics, and reductions in water quality. Recreational non-native fish species (i.e., rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, lake trout, and kokanee salmon) are not targeted by the program. An IS/ND and IEC/FONSE was completed for the Target Invasive Fish Control Program at Lake Tahoe to authorize a selection of mechanical fish control methods that can be implemented in locations of suitable habitat for the target species over the next 20 years. The Notice of Determination was completed in April 2020.
