Watershed Restoration Program
Restore Priority Meadows, Wetlands, and Lake Tahoe Tributaries
This project proposes to develop a comprehensive environmental planning document to restore ecological and hydrological characteristics of meadows on National Forest System lands in the Lake Tahoe Basin. We have already completed a very similar NEPA document which focused on six meadows. We are currently restoring these meadows. These past experiences of writing the NEPA document and evaluating the feasibility of different restoration techniques are very advantageous for moving forward with a stream-lined, broader-scale document. As a result, we anticipate this planning project would take fewer than two years to complete.
