Stormwater Management Program Reduce Stormwater Pollution From: Roads and Highways, Forest Roads, Public and Private Parcels
IVGID’s Burnt Cedar property currently receives storm water that enters the property during precipitation and snowmelt events. This water enters the property through an 18-inch CMP culvert and comes exclusively from the Washoe County roadway swales. Currently, the only BMP is the grass area adjacent to the culvert. There are no permanent BMP’s to slow the stormwater and stop sediment from entering the lake. This also results in beach sections being washed out as the water flows down the property. IVGID proposes a permanent BMP system in which this storm water is controlled and will slow the rate of water allowing the sediment to drop out of the water prior to it entering the lake.
