Stewardship Program Engage Communities in Environmental Stewardship
This watershed boundary signage project will increase public awareness of the EIP and enhance stewardship and preservation of the Tahoe Basin watershed. TRPA, with funding and assistance from EIP partners, will design and install gateway signs near each of the seven roadway entrances to the Lake Tahoe Basin that will grow a sense of environmental stewardship among all who visit and live in the Tahoe Basin. In 2014, Phase 1 of the project was completed. Three signs were placed along highway entrances in Nevada: U.S. Highway 50 (Spooner Summit), State Route 207 (Kingsbury Grade), and State Route 431 (Mount Rose). This project, Phase 2, is for signage on the California side of the Basin.
