Implement Programmatic Monitoring and Reporting
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency monitors for the presence of aquatic invasive species. Monthly plankton tows are conducted in Lake Tahoe from May through September. The purpose is to detect Quagga and zebra mussel and Asian clam veligers. After the plankton tow is taken, the sample is sent to a lab to detect the presence of larval stage invasive species.
