Air Quality & Transportation Improving Transit and Trails Connections
South Tahoe Greenway Shared-Use Trail will connect Sierra Tract and Van Sickle Bi-State Park in the core of South Lake Tahoe, establishing backbone of the non-motorized transportation network in the South Shore. Project approval occurred in 2011 and the 3.86 mile trail, including neighborhood connectors, will be constructed in phases. Phase 1a and Phases 1b&2 are separate EIP projects currently in the implementation phase; see those projects for cost information. To complete the Greenway, future phases will include Phases 1c, 3, and several neighborhood connectors. Future projects could extend the Greenway to Meyers.
