Forest Restoration Program Restore Native Vegetation and Forest Communities
The Sunset Aspen Restoration forestry project involved cutting trees that were marked under the guidance of a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) for forest health and fuel reduction efforts. The project was implemented by hand crews cutting designated trees and brush. The project was split into two phases: the first being the cutting of designated trees and brush and the second being the burning of the piles. The project is located in the South Shore of Lake Tahoe and was 32 acres in size.
