Community Wildfire Protection Program
Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The Glenbrook Homeowners Association (GHOA), in cooperation with Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District (TDF) and Nevada Environmental Consulting (NVENV) are implementing a wildfire fuels management and habitat restoration project in Slaughterhouse Meadow . This 7 acre common area parcel is owned by GHOA. The prescribed burning of dead and live willow fuel in the riparian zone assists with concurrent habitat restoration efforts being conducted to address mosquito issues and restoration of human caused alterations to the wetland hydrology.
Forest fuels treatment also took place at Lot X, a nearby parcel. TImber was cable yarded to the old HWY 50 road where the wood was processed.
