Community Wildfire Protection Program Reduce Hazardous Fuels
This is a 420-452 acre fuel reduction project within Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park located outside of the Marlette basin watershed boundary, south and west of Marlette Lake. Treatment areas will modify fire behavior for wildland fire progressing from the south and west to the east, upslope towards the Marlette basin. The north unit west of Marlette Lake is approx. 220 acres and the south unit near the Secret Harbor diversion is approx. 232 acres. This proposal has been submitted for funding in SNPLMA Round 19. Project would connect a large contiguous area where hazardous fuel reduction has been completed in the past.
