Reduce Hazardous Fuels
The Conservancy treated 42 acres within the Mark Twain subdivision of Tahoe City. The treatment consisted of hand thinning followed by the creation of burn piles of the thinned vegetation on 11 acres, and mechanical cut-to-length followed by mastication of th remaining slash on 31 acres. While the primary goal was to reduce fuel loading, wildlife was considered through leaving untreated areas as wildlife habitat islands. Project Description required
