Aquatic Invasive Species Program
Prevent, Control, or Eradicate Aquatic Invasive Species
The Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association (TKPOA) implemented a pilot project using Laminar Flow Aeration (LFA) in a six acre area, west of the main lagoon of the homeowner channel. TKPOA investigated LFA's potential to reduce plant growth and/or densities by the increased levels of oxygen LFA creates. The project was implemented in the spring of 2019 and is now part of the Tahoe Keys Aquatic Weeds Control Methods Test (CMT)- comparing effectiveness of multiple methods to address invasive aquatic weeds in the Keys. Performance of LFA will now be tracked as part of the CMT project.
