Aquatic Invasive Species Program
Prevent, Control, or Eradicate Aquatic Invasive Species
An aquatic invasive plant survey was conducted along Nevada's shoreline, starting from Stateline on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. Divers are systematically surveyed and removed any Eurasian watermilfoil and curly-leaf pondweed detected along the Shoreline and in select tributaries. Divers also specifically targeted the following locations during their surveys: Elk Point Rock Crib, Wovoka Estates Rock Crib, Logan Shoals Marina, Tahoe Beach Club and Lagoon, and Burke Creek at Nevada Beach. As of January 2023, historic and current plant infestation sites along the Nevada Shoreline are monitored in Project 1.03.01.0037 - Lake-wide Aquatic Invasive Plant Surveillance and Site Assessments.
